Fern Lim

PDCP, PDP, ACC

Positive Psychology Coach
Youth Resilience Coach/Mentor
Parenting Coach
Child Psychotherapist
Counsellor

With personal experience in childhood trauma, anxiety, and depression, Fern has become a keen observer of parenting styles, environmental factors, cultural backgrounds, and the importance of the early years. A life-changing event in her late 20s has broadened her horizon in the research of mind-body connection. Nutrition and environmental awareness formed part of her holistic approach when she looked at a person’s well-being.

With a big love for learning, Fern has been known as the Queen of Random Facts. Try her! Jokes aside, she has always been fascinated by psychological topics and research papers with a strong desire to understand why certain people behave in the way they do. She dropped out of her Bachelor of Science in Psychology due to financial limitations. Since then, she has worked in a variety of industries and roles, including F&B, finance, marketing tech, sales, business development, and management. Fern is driven by passion in whatever she does, always questioning and exploring every option. She readily thrives in the work she performs, forming close relationships with colleagues and top management personnel.

The demand for mental health peaked during the pandemic. After years of accumulating experiences from all corners of the world, she sees the need to return to what she’s truly passionate about and skilled at. Now a certified life coach and psychotherapist for both adults and children, Fern is living her IKIGAI – merging her deeply rooted passion with her accumulated knowledge to guide others into a state of thriving.

Fern is known as an empathetic and empowering practitioner, skilful in utilising SFBT, CBT, Art, Play, and Positive Psychology interventions to enlighten each client’s unique path. With deep understanding and personalised guidance, she fosters an atmosphere of empowerment, resilience, and growth, harmoniously connecting the mind, body, and spirit in the transformative journey toward well-being and self-discovery.

Fern’s Childhood and Personality Type

Fern Lim is the middle child in a ‘normal’ household whose parents worked around the clock in hopes of providing a brighter future for their children. Sibling rivalry has gotten out of hand in the absence of adult supervision at home. Struggling to find her position and worth in the family has naturally shaped her into an INFJ personality type.

INFJs are noted to be highly empathic, having an innate ability to read the room and people’s emotions. They often experience other people’s emotions as their own. They are generally outstanding salespeople, but their inherent desire to help people make them natural healers, often pursuing careers as a social worker, counsellor, coach, or mentor. This is because they have experienced the anguish and believe that everyone deserves the help they could’ve received as a child.
